There are several really good websites to learn more about online advertising and advertising
specifications. One of the easiest ads to place is a text search engine ad. Google offers this service through their Adwords Service and Overture offers text ads on MSN, Yahoo, and CNN among other sites.
One of the best sites to graphical ad specifications is Yahoo! Ad Center. The International Advertising Bureau also has a Standards and Guidelines page which is very similar to the requirements of Yahoo! ads. Sitepoint also has an excellent article on Trends in Online Ad Design.
