Almost done

A new website that I found is called hint.com. Hint is a fashion magazine and its website gives daily hints on fahion as well as giving access to some of its columns. This website does not have a normal navigation, but instead four different sections with links to new stuff, columns, hints, and features.

apple just released a new version of its video editing software. the cool part of this website is that it has streaming quicktime movies on the website so you can get a preview of what the software can do.

I go to www.dafont.com alot. Its a site that lets you download different font types for free and i use them alot in my graphics class. If you wanted to use these fonts on your webpage this site would be really good for that also.

you should check it out. Its amazing. You can even type in specific words that you want and then they will show up in every font type and you can then choose which one looks best. I love it

Internet Movie Database

www.imdb.com is a site about movies. They have reviews for almost every movie imaginable and rate the greatest movies of all time. They rate new movies, and I think that their critcs have tastes that are very similar to my own so every time I want to go see a movie I go here and check to see what IMDB has rated it to know whether or not it will be good or a waste of time.

One website I have found is extremely targeted to one age group is the Barbie website. It uses a horizontal navigation as well as a flash navigation at the top of the page. It also contains a large picture with links to games or shopping. Its color scheme is pright pink and other bright colors. Its definately targeted at little girls that are really girly.

I went to the website for Office Depot and their website made me aware of their many convenient online services. You can download any image or document onto their site and designate your desired size and number of prints, pay with your credit card and they will be ready for pick-up within hours or they will even deliver them to you. I am a graphic design major so this has become a huge convenience for me. www.officedepot.com

Inprov design Studios is a Texas based design and mass marketing company. I am interning with them this summer. Their website was very impressive and it caught by eye and caused me to contact them. I saw a lot of what we have been talking about in this class such as their successful use of navigation, effects, photos and links. www.inprov.com

Coyote Ugly

Some of you may have seen the reality show on CMT called "The Ultimate Coyote". ell if you havent, it comes on at 7:00 on Friday nights. If you g0 to www.cmt.com you can click on the Coyote Ugly link and read all about the show. There is even a blog page to talk with other fans about various topics. This show and site personally interest me because my cousin Maria is one of the main girls on the show. Go online and check it out...better yet catch the show on friday!!

do you rock the vote?

So, Rock The Vote is a pretty cool website with tons of information on how to get involved with campaigning, as well as registering to vote, and getting something started on your campus to promote registered voters. It has loads of info for college students, and even has a few internships that you can read about on the site.

Half

If you are like me and you dont have alot of money.. half.com is a great place to purchase things you need.. such as text books.

The site is owned by ebay and has great deals. Alot of the time, products are marked as half off (like the name implies). Also the site has a great navigational system. Tabs are at the top for searching through different products, as well as a search bar with a dropdown menu to search for a specific type of item.

Its cool and cheap. Exactly what I need.

free music

Ruckus is a website aimed at college students. You can download free music if you have a student email address, as well as search internships, jobs, etc. Its easy to use, but if you have a Mac computer, you wont be able to participate in the free music.

Google Earth

Stephen Carter showed me this website,while we were at Moab, Utah, we used it to look at the trails we were doing. You can go download the Google Earth software for free from the website. After doing this you can look anywhere on earth through satellite pictures. Not only can you see places looking straight down at them, but you can also turn the map so you are looking at the places from a more horizontal viewpoint. Its pretty cool.

text twist

so i was introduced to this game this weekend that is so addicting. it is called text twist. it is so much fun. i spent hours playing with my friend. it is all i want to do now. but ya it is on yahoo! games. i highly recommend it to everyone! text twist
