I found this website really funny. It talks about a website that allows people who are not so popular or what not to pay 99 cents a day for "good looking" people to write on their myspace or any other website. Sadly people actually do this. Bored!!!

So imagine this, you are sitting in your dorm room with nothing to do so you type in www.bored.com. Well that is exactly what I did and its a website. This website has several links to websites that can give you something to do or read to pass the time away. It has links for: free stuff, new sites, music, games, humor, fun, romance, quizzes and trivia, dumb, tv and movies, make money, kids section, weird, and sports. The design is very simple with a two column setup. Its easy to navigate and has a pleasurable color scheme.

Want to work at a summer camp?

Christian Camping International is a great resource for people interested in working at a camp. Most Christian camps are associated with CCI and you can find a complete database of their camps on the website. You can find a camp just about anywhere in the world from all over the US to New Zealand, Russia, China, Europe, Africa, etc. Its is user friendly for the most part and includes contact information and websites for most of the camps.

Pets

Someday I would like to own a dog when I am out of school and have my own place.

I found a website called pets4you.com and it is a great way to find the breed that you are looking for. You can search by breeds, breeders, species, trainers and many other things.

It is just a great resource because I didnt know exactly where to find a type of dog that I wanted at a certain age within a reasonable distance.

Graphics

I was looking at this website when searching for something in another class. www.graphics.com is a good website and gives differnt types of graphics you can use and look at for ideas.

Pricepoint.com

Pricepoint.com is a mountain biking online store. The page design is pretty simple with a white background, however it has alot of graphics that contrast well with the white. The main page features sales, and it has drop-down menus that are very thorough. I really enjoy this website because it has alot of really good mountain biking gear for pretty cheap.

I know I miss MTV

This post goes along with the post about grey's anatomy but has to do with MTV. Since this school has decided to make it where we can not have MTV on our tv but will allow shows such as grey's anatomy, or nip tuck or desperate housewives. I mean I have no problem with those shows..in fact i LOVE grey's anatomy and desperate housewives. But since I miss MTV i go to www.mtv.com to watch the shows i am currently missing. so if you are missing your mtv show too...go to this website. :) enjoy!

missed Grey's Anatomy?

www.abc.com and www.abcfamily.com now have all of their currently played (this season only) shows online to watch for free. However, I would not count on the internet to watch your favorite show that you forgot to tape because the abc browser sometimes says that Ouachita's browser does not support it. I have found the best time to watch it is around 3 AM when no one is using their internet.

Creating urls

I found a website that allows you to turn any image that you have on your computer into a url adress. It makes it real simple...you just prowse, upload, copy then paste. The website is http://photobucket.com/.

Illegal downloads

This website talks about the constant problem of illegal downloading of music, movies, etc. Mostly about music though, and more and more artists are sending complaints to universities. I really don't think that illegal downloading is that bad. i mean those music artists make enough already..we can have a few illegal downloads now and then. the website is http://www.cnn.com/2007/EDUCATION/02/21/downloading.music.ap/index.html.
and this computer did not give me the button to make the site to make it a link. that keeps happening to me.

http://www.valueweb.com/web-design/readyWebPro.htm is a good site to tell you about professional web designing. It shows the prices and information for hiring someone to design for you. I had no idea that it would be so expensive.

Graphic Design

When searching the web for In Design tutorials I found this Graphic Design site that includes a lot of information on Graphic Design, Web Design, Message Boards and a search engine. This website has a bright color scheme, but is hard to navigate because there is so much information on the page and you have to scroll left and right to see all of the content.

A documentary movie has been released about the lost boys from Sudan and their stories.

Weekend Boxoffice

This weekend will be a busy weekend with five new movies in wide release including the Jim Carrey thriller The Number 23, the comedy Reno 911!: Miami starring the cast of the Comedy Central show. Billy Bob Thornton and Virginia Madsen star in The Polish Brothers' Astronaut Farmer and also After Dark and Lionsgate team to release the horror film The Abandoned.

Ghost Rider, by Sony, with Nicolas Cage playing the Marvel Comics character, found a huge audience of fans this past weekend. It grossed an estimated $51.5 million over the four-days.

Ninja's

So my sister's boyfriend recently got me watching these funny videos on www.askaninja.com It is very entertaining, and user friendly. You can become a member, purchase clothes, videos, etc. For those who are obsessed with the all this ninja stuff, its a site you will like.

today in class we made our first webpages. It is a little confusing and somewhat simple. When we continue to make them, I think we should remember design techniques in a book for everyday people all about design principles such as alignment, spacing, empty space, and information. News and the Web

One of my favorite websites, The Quorum Report, is probably the most up-to-date news source for Texas politics. The website is often updated every few minutes because they have a reporter on location at the capital of Texas who writes as soon as something happens. Often it is just a quick few sentences to let you know what is going on, then when there is more time and more details a full article is written, however those full articles are only available to subscribers. Non-subscribers can read the summaries, but do not have full access to all the website has to offer. The website also has a page that separates the articles containing Republican news from that containing Democratic news. The website is one of the most respected news sources for the Texas Government.

Drop Down Menus

Buywake is a very user friendly website with a lot good colors on the front page as well. One thing that it does very well is the drop down menus. They are easy to use and they actually work unlike some other websites that have the same kind of concept.

post 5: help for later

We are going to need to use photoshop later in the semester. And on their website, they give good advice for people trying to use graphics digitally. I just think it might be helpful later on if we get confused or want to make the best designs for our websites.

Indesign for cheap

Well i know indesign posts are a little old but this is my first post so ya. but ya i found this website that if you want to buy indesign for a cheap price you can. instead of the this other websites price of $184.85. this one only cost about $47.

Snap

Hey I think all of yall should hear about Snap.com. If you havnt yet, its a search engine much like Google but before you click on websites that you have brought up, you had the option to preview them on the same page as the search page. It saves you time and its easy to use. Check it out

Cingular enters the world of Facebook

Cingular has recently created a website www.cingularfriends.com for Facebook users to celebrate Cingular merging with AT&T. The website allows you to invite your friends to the Cingular group on Facebook, and for every friend that accepts the invitation you recieve points towards free ringtones, gift cards, and even a phone. The website is very user-friendly and clearly explains how the program works with a visual/graph/picture thing that tells you how many friends you have to invite in order to receive your rewards, including a link to a website that has a list of all the rewards (www.CINGULAREXTRAS.com). It also has a page to sign up to be a part of the program and creates a profile for you.
